Mari’s Gardens Pumpkin Patch
Mari’s Gardens is a family nursery and aquaponic farm in Mililani, and every October it sets out a mini pumpkin patch among the plants. Entry is free, the pumpkins are priced by weight, and the 2026 patch runs through Oct. 31. It is Oahu’s low-key pumpkin stop: no tickets, no festival, just pumpkins in a garden.

The patch is open. The Star-Advertiser photographed families picking pumpkins at Mari’s on Monday, Oct. 5, and Honolulu Magazine’s 2026 pumpkin patch lineup lists it from Saturday, Oct. 3 to Saturday, Oct. 31.

What Mari’s Gardens Is
Mari’s Gardens started as a plant nursery supplying Fred Lau’s commercial landscaping business, and the family later added food: its own About page calls it the largest aquaponic farm in Hawaiʻi, with tilapia tanks feeding the lettuce and greens. It also grows ornamental plants and runs shops in Kakaʻako and Kailua.
That is the point of going. The patch is small, and it sits inside a working nursery rather than a festival ground. Pick a pumpkin, browse the nursery, and leave with a plant. Mari’s online shop lists Halloween planters for the season, from a 2-inch pumpkin pot at $6 to 3-inch pumpkin and ghost planters at $11.

Getting to Mililani from Waikiki and the Airport
From Waikiki, it is 22 miles and about 40 minutes with no traffic. Take H-1 west, then Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) north, and turn into Mililani on Lanikuhana Avenue. The garden is at 94-415 Makapipipi St, Mililani.
From the airport, it is 14 miles, about 25 minutes on the same route. With a 4 p.m. close, it only works on an arrival day if you land by early afternoon. Our guide to getting from Honolulu airport to Waikiki covers the rental car pickup, and the Oahu rental car guide covers whether you need one at all.

How Long to Plan, and What’s Nearby
Give the garden about an hour. That leaves the day for Central Oahu. Dole Plantation is 7.5 miles north on Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawā, about 20 minutes, and its website lists daily hours of 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Keep driving north and you reach Haleʻiwa: our guide to what to do on the North Shore picks up from there.

Mari’s Gardens vs Waimānalo Country Farms
Oahu’s other big pumpkin name is Waimānalo Country Farms, and the two suit different days. Waimānalo is the full outing, with sunflower fields, a market stand and paid entry, and no reservations for daytime visits (farm website). Mari’s is the quick, free stop. Our Waimānalo Country Farms guide covers that festival in full.
