The 30-second verdict

Monkeypod is the easy, all-day answer at Ko Olina: open 11 to 10, a short walk from Aulani and the Four Seasons, with wood-oven pizza, poke and a foam-topped mai tai. Go at 3:30 for happy hour and the afternoon music set. Drivers should plan around the shops’ paid lot.

What to Order

From the Lunch & Dinner menu dated August 2026: the Kalua Pork & Pineapple pizza ($25), with macadamia nut pesto and jalapeño on an organic 00-flour crust from the kiawe wood oven; the Poke Mixed Plate ($29), ahi poke with ogo, ono poisson cru and marinated tako; Bulgogi Pork Tacos ($24) with house kimchee and Asian pear; and the macadamia nut crusted fresh fish ($54) with pineapple relish and lemon beurre blanc. Save room for a cream pie ($15): banana, strawberry, chocolate, orange creamsicle or coconut. Kids get a cheeseburger, cheese pizza, saimin or fish.

03

Music, Beer and Wine

Monkeypod opened here in January 2013. Local acts play three sets a day, at 12:30, 3:30 and 7 p.m., and the drafts are served at 29 degrees. The wine list runs to more than 50 bottles, and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. sparkling wine bottles are half off. There is also a Monkeypod at the Outrigger Reef in Waikiki, so name Ko Olina when you book. For the resort around it, see our Ko Olina guide.

Getting There and Parking

Monkeypod is at 92-1048 Olani Street in Ko Olina Station, a short walk from Aulani and the Four Seasons; Marriott lists it at half a mile from its Ko Olina Beach Club. Drivers use the shared shops lot, open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., paid in 15-minute steps with a three-hour maximum and no overnight parking. Pay when you park, since unpaid sessions are ticketed, and ask about validation when you book. From Waikiki it is 25.9 miles, about 35 minutes without traffic; the Ko Olina map shows the lot.

Drive to Ko Olina

Ko Olina is 35 minutes from Waikiki, and a car makes an afternoon here easy to pair with the lagoons and the west side. DiscoverCars searches the island’s rental agencies in one go. Compare Oahu rental cars on DiscoverCars.

Could be better

Parking is the friction. The only lot is the shops’ paid lot, capped at three hours with no overnight parking, and neither the shopping center nor the parking operator publishes Monkeypod’s validation terms. A long dinner plus the 7 p.m. set can run into the cap.

07

Consider Instead

  • Roy’s Ko Olina is the sit-down step up for couples: Hawaii fusion classics like misoyaki butterfish, a $59 Twilight Prix Fixe from 5 to 6 p.m., and live music on the Bridge Bar lanai Friday to Sunday.
  • Mina’s Fish House is the splurge for a seafood night: shellfish towers and a $128 lobster pot pie on decks that step down to the lagoon beach, dinner only from 4 p.m.
  • Island Country Market is the cheaper, faster option in the same Ko Olina Station: deli plate lunches, Sushi Kaiyo rolls, and beer and wine to take back to a villa.

Tips Before You Book Monkeypod Ko Olina

  • Go at 3:30. Happy hour and the afternoon music set start together.
  • Walk in if OpenTable is full. The restaurant says it takes walk-ins daily.
  • Sunday lunch, open sparkling. Bottles are half off from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Bring the little ones. Noodles and cheese are free for kids under 3.
  • Mind the allergens. The mai tai foam has raw egg white, the orgeat has nuts, and the fish taco mole has peanuts.
  • Pay for parking right away. Unpaid sessions are ticketed, and the cap is three hours. For the drive itself, see renting a car on Oahu.
