The 30-second verdict

Book ʻAMAʻAMA for a sit-down Ko Olina dinner with the beach in view: $140 buys four courses built on Hawaii farms and fish, nearly all of it gluten-free, with a full plant-based version. It is dinner only, Wednesday to Sunday, so plan the night around it.

Known for

The four-course island menu

One choice per course: a starter, an appetizer, an entrée and dessert. The dish Aulani puts on the venue page is the carpaccio with black garlic, truffle and chimichurri on a Punaluʻu sweet bread crostini.

02

What to Order

The menu changes, so treat these as the sample menu dated April 8, 2026. For the starter, the carpaccio with egg yolk and chili pepper aïoli, or a smoked salmon pâté with caviar and taro. For the appetizer, pork belly in a huli huli glaze with Sumida watercress and ʻuala (sweet potato), or ahi with ginger scallion sauce and Maui onion. The entrées include a “Paniolo” wagyu filet with dauphinoise potatoes, a lobster tail with gnocchi and truffle sabayon, scallops with Kahuku sweet corn, and the local catch in a bouillabaisse broth. Finish with the Kona coffee mousse with macadamia nut brittle.

The plant-based menu keeps the same shape and price; its huli huli course swaps the pork for a smoked Hāmākua mushroom. The keiki menu adds Mickey and Minnie shaped Spam musubi and a “Grey Stuff” tart.

03

The Room

The open-air room is built like a beach house, with a thatched roof, mosaics and a reflecting pool, facing Koholā Lagoon. The name comes from the ʻamaʻama, the native striped mullet that Disney calls the most abundant and vital fish of Hawaiʻi. For the resort around it, see our Aulani review.

Price and Hours

Four courses cost $140 an adult, and the wine pairing is $75; the plant-based menu is the same. Hawaii’s 4.71% general excise tax is added to every bill, and parties of seven or more pay a 19% service charge. Dinner runs Wednesday to Sunday, 5 to 8:30 p.m. There is no breakfast, lunch or à la carte menu.

05

Getting There and Parking

From Waikiki it is 25.9 miles, about 35 minutes without traffic; the H-1 west slows in late afternoon, so leave early for a 5 p.m. table (see renting a car on Oahu). Day parking at Aulani runs up to $40, but one receipt of $100 or more validates up to four hours of self or valet parking. Our Ko Olina guide and Ko Olina map cover the rest of the resort.

Drive to Ko Olina

Ko Olina is 35 minutes from Waikiki, and a car lets you pair dinner with the lagoons and the west side. DiscoverCars searches the island’s rental agencies in one go. Compare Oahu rental cars on DiscoverCars.

Could be better

It is closed two nights a week and cannot be a late dinner. Seatings run only Wednesday to Sunday, 5 to 8:30 p.m., so a Monday or Tuesday at Ko Olina, or dinner after a long day in town, means eating somewhere else.

07

Consider Instead

  • Roy’s Ko Olina is the pick for a smaller budget or an afternoon visit: Aloha Hour runs 2 to 5 p.m. daily, and the $59 Twilight Prix Fixe (5 to 6 p.m.) costs less than half of the $140 four courses here.
  • Mina’s Fish House is the seafood dinner on any night of the week: it opens daily at 4 p.m. at the Four Seasons, with decks that step down to tables on the sand, though entrées run $52 to $128.
  • Monkeypod Kitchen suits families and casual or late meals: it is open daily 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Ko Olina Station, with wood-oven pizza and a keiki menu from $9.

Tips Before You Book ʻAMAʻAMA

  • Book on day 45. Reservations open 45 days ahead, online or at (808) 674-6200.
  • Keep one receipt. Parking validation needs $100 or more on a single receipt, plus your parking ticket; one adult menu covers it.
  • Flag allergies when you book. Nearly everything is gluten-free, and the plant-based menu runs every course.
  • Bring kids for the keiki menu, not characters. Mickey and friends are at Makahiki’s breakfast, not here.
  • Leave the cake at home. Aulani allows no outside cakes and does not sell them for now.
  • Take the first seating for the light. The room opens at 5 p.m., facing the beach. For more sunset dinners, see our Oahu honeymoon guide.
