KOA LLC (“we,” “us”), a Washington limited liability company.

What the Site is
The Site publishes travel writing about Oahu: itineraries, guides, reviews, maps, and
trip-planning tools. Everything on it is general information for your own planning. It is
not professional advice of any kind, and it is not a substitute for your own judgment,
official sources, or local guidance.
Your safety is your responsibility
Many activities we write about carry real risk. Hiking, swimming, snorkeling, surfing,
cliff areas, waterfalls, remote beaches, and driving unfamiliar roads can cause serious
injury or death. Ocean and trail conditions on Oahu change quickly and without warning.
- You assume all risk for any activity you choose to do.
- Always check current conditions before you go. For ocean safety, follow posted signs
and lifeguards, and check the National Weather Service and Hawaii Beach Safety. - Respect closures, private property, and cultural sites. Some places we describe are
sacred, and some access changes seasonally or permanently. - Nothing on the Site should be read as a statement that a place is safe for you on the
day you visit.
Accuracy
We research what we publish and update it when we can, but prices, hours, routes, permit
rules, and operators change constantly. We make no warranty that any content is current,
complete, or accurate. Verify anything you are relying on directly with the operator or the
relevant agency before you book or travel.
Affiliate links and bookings
Some links on the Site are affiliate links, including to Viator and
DiscoverCars. If you book or buy through them, KOA LLC may earn a commission
at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed on the pages where those links appear and in our
Privacy Policy.
We are not the seller. Any booking, rental, tour, or purchase you make is a contract
between you and that third party, governed by their terms, their cancellation policy, and
their refund rules. We are not a party to it and cannot resolve disputes, process refunds,
or change reservations. Take any problem with a booking directly to the company you booked
with.
Third-party links
The Site links to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content,
their products, or their privacy practices.
Our content
The text, photographs, maps, itineraries, and design on the Site are owned by KOA LLC or
used with permission, and are protected by copyright. You may read, print, and share links
for your own personal, non-commercial trip planning. You may not republish, resell, scrape,
or use our content to train a model, or reproduce substantial portions of it, without our
written permission. Short quotations with clear attribution and a link are fine.
Acceptable use
Do not use the Site to break the law, to interfere with its operation or security, to
harvest data by automated means, or to misrepresent your identity when you contact us or
sign up for email.
Email and the trip planner
If you give us your email address or enter trip preferences, we handle that information
as described in our Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe from
marketing email at any time using the link in any message.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind,
express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be
uninterrupted, secure, or error free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KOA LLC and its members, officers, and
contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or
punitive damages, or for any personal injury, death, property damage, lost profits, or
travel costs, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or your reliance on
anything published on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not
exceed one hundred United States dollars (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not
apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KOA LLC from any claim, loss, or expense
(including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of
these Terms, or your violation of the rights of anyone else.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its
conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal
courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
Changes
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
